2003: Sergio Valdez

Early Life & Education

Sergio was born and raised in Cuba. He met his wife Carlotta as a teenager, and they emigrated to the US in the early 90s. He studied zoology at the University of Miami. 

Personal Life

Sergio and Carlotta have been happily married for many years. Sergio enjoys SCUBA diving and cast-net fishing. 

Career

Sergio worked at the Miami Zoo for many years before travelling to Norway to work at a reindeer sanctuary, where he met Chuck, whom he adopted and brought back to the States.

Sergio, Carlotta, and Chuck went on an African safari for the couple’s 30th wedding anniversary.
